The classic Gimlet recipe is a mixture of gin and Rose's Lime Juice, which is a sweetened and preserved lime cordial. Though I opt for using fresh lime juice. It may be untraditional, but I think it's a better drink and quite possibly the best cocktail template in existence. Regardless of my opinions, on the new Gimlet page you can come to your own conclusions. There are multiple Gimlet recipes, including one for making your own lime cordial, plus the usual variations and foggy historical details.
