This is an original cocktail from the guy who got me into cocktails, Michael Cecconi, who is still a close friend. It's the best Margarita variation I've ever had: tequila, lime, strawberries, black pepper syrup with a pepper spiced rim. The syrup takes a little advance planning but is well worth the effort. Strawberries are in peak season right now in the northeast, so if you happen to get some from a local farmer's market cancel any other cocktail plans you might have made. You must make this drink now!
This version keeps the spirit of the classic Word hurdle cocktail but introduces new flavors that work beautifully together.
